The Beachniks

The Beachniks never play in Melbourne, (which they deem to be evil).  Instead, they have been playing and living around Lorne for about 13 years.

They describe their music as ‘Nu-Surf' which is a blend (in equal amounts) of Dub reggae, 60's garage surf-rock , folk-pop and jazz.

They have released 2 CD's on the Jazzhead label and in addition to this- the bands leader Jeff Raglus, has his own solo release ‘Bellatrix' which heavily features The Beachniks.  They are best known to play as an electric 4 piece with Simon Dawe on drums, but more common recently they have been playing as an acoustic trio. which features Jeff Raglus on trumpet, guitar and vocals, Randall Forsythe on guitar and Evan Jones on double bass.  C'mon feel the noise of the Nu Surf Sound!

The Beachniks are playing at the Wolseley winery on Sunday the 22th August in the afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.  They're gonna be great - don't miss them!
